Lion: No groups listed in People Picker window
Problem
Due to an iCloud-related issue in OS X 10.7, Address Book groups are not listed in the People Picker window and therefore can't be added to the "Contact Information" pane to export them.
Possible solution
Follow these steps. This has worked me and others:
- Quit Export Address Book.
- Quit Apple Address Book
- Launch Address Book again and open it's Preferences window
- Switch to the "General" pane and hit the Popup menu called "Default Account"
- Switch to "iCloud" (if it's there) and then back to "On My Mac"
- Quit Address Book
- Launch Export Address Book. The groups should now be listed in the People Picker.
You can also try to drag groups and contacts (but not smart groups) directly from Address Book into the app.
